About Me

My name is Lanz Abuan. I am a photographer based in New Jersey. I am currently completing my Associates of Applied Science Degree at Middlesex College for Professional Commercial Photography. My passion for photography and the arts began when I visited the Brooklyn Museum and began looking at various artworks and photographic images. It sparked my artistic ambitions and creativity, as well as getting positive compliments from peers for taking photos of them during our photoshoots. Because of this, I decided to pursue a degree of Professional Photography. It is important to me that I make the best high-quality photographs for my clients that satisfies their needs. I mostly work on portraitures, but can also do landscape, architectural, and street photography. I have enjoyed working in a photo studio as well as capturing photos outdoors and other various places. Before I begin shooting, I try to envision the image first in my head and how I want it to come out. While behind the camera, I take multiple things under consideration, such as the composition. How the placement of objects and subjects around the environment connect with the space, such as the sky, ground, and background, and how the colors convey a certain meaning and how it harmonizes with each other. I also use Adobe software, such as Lightroom and Photoshop to edit my photos. I have used my time at Middlesex College to master and perfect my skills with these softwares. The aim of my work as a photographer is to convey my views and artistic agendas in such a way that will increase the people's appreciation of photography and art in general, and give them a new perspective on life, and the world in which they live. Through the world of photography, I am also looking forward to building connections and meeting new people. If you are interested, check out my instagram: @lanz.photos
